Your daily routine would include:

• Install, configure, and administer Commvault backup solutions across diverse environments (Windows, Linux, UNIX, Oracle).
• Monitor daily backup operations, troubleshoot failures, and perform proactive problem resolution to prevent data loss.
• Optimize backup schedules, retention policies, and resource utilization, ensuring minimal impact on production systems.
• Test and validate restores to guarantee backup integrity and support disaster recovery drills.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (system admins, DBAs, application owners, IT security) to define and support new backup requirements
• Generate and maintain compliance, audit, and operational reports
• Maintain documentation of backup configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions.
• Keep abreast of Commvault updates, security patches, and industry best practices.
• Support regulatory and security compliance efforts, including encryption and access control for backups.

We’ll know you can make it if you have:

• 1–2 years of experience in backup administration or related IT operations (experience with large telecom/enterprise environments is a plus, not a requirement).
• Basic understanding of backup concepts and willingness to learn Commvault in depth.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows or Linux (both is a plus but not mandatory).
• General understanding of storage basics (e.g., deduplication, compression, replication).
• Problem?solving mindset, ability to troubleshoot issues, and good communication skills.

Nice to Have:

• Hands-on experience with Commvault (installation, backup job creation, policy management, troubleshooting).
• Experience with disaster recovery planning or execution.
• Exposure to scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
