Our client is a leading international production company with a strong presence in the industrial sector. On their behalf, we are looking for a seasoned and strategic professional to take on the role of Managing Director.

About the role:

As Managing Director, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the industrial, commercial, financial, and administrative operations of the company. Your mission will be to drive performance across production, sales, cost efficiency, quality, health & safety, environmental sustainability, and organizational culture - aligned with the group’s strategy, values, and market needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that health and safety, sustainable development, and environmental protection objectives and priorities are defined annually and achieved through the business planning process.
• Develop a strategic plan to advance the company’s mission and objectives, driving revenue, profitability, ROCE, FCF, and sustainable organizational growth.
• Oversee the company’s operations to ensure safety, production efficiency, quality, service excellence, and cost-effective resource management.
• Achieve consolidated gross revenue targets by effectively planning, managing, and controlling human and material resources.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s financial and economic performance indicators - covering both the main entity and affiliated companies - through the management of production, sales, investment, finance, and cost plans, aligned with established goals and budget forecasts.
• Lead the formulation, implementation, and control of budget strategies, policies, and plans through active participation in the Management Board, based on macroeconomic trends and business environment analysis.
• Promote operational consistency by implementing total quality management principles and best practices across the organization.
• Drive the development of products and services by leveraging technological advancements, productivity improvements, and quality enhancements to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Prevent adverse environmental impacts from industrial operations by implementing sustainable development initiatives and proactive environmental protection measures.
• Represent the company and uphold a positive corporate image through strategic business and social responsibility initiatives, engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a CEO/COO role in a small/medium plant, or 10+ years as a Production Manager in a large international manufacturing environment (e.g., steel, automotive, HVAC, home appliances).
• Proven leadership in managing HSE, Production, Supply Chain, Cost Reduction, and HR.
• Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and Total Quality Systems.
• Commercial or business development experience with direct client interaction.
• Ability to quickly grasp and manage all operational areas of a mid-sized company.
• Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the production floor.
• Demonstrated success in cost reduction and process optimization.
• Fluent in English and Bulgarian (written and spoken).
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
